Sport1 Partners with Starzz to Build Web3 Experiences for Sports and Entertainment
Germany-based television company Sport1 has revealed a strategic alliance with digital fan token platform Starzz. On Tuesday, Sport1 confirmed its acquisition of shares in Starzz LLC, the parent company of the web3 startup that offers fan tokens to sports clubs and celebrities.
Through this partnership, Starzz will gain access to a broader market by leveraging the Sport1 network, encompassing television, digital platforms, audio, and social media.
Both companies have also committed to joint investments in web3 projects, aiming to attract new users through interactive engagement with celebrities and fans.
By combining Sport1's consumer-facing platforms with Starzz's digital fan token platform, the two entities are well-positioned to facilitate the adoption of web3 technology within the sports and entertainment industries, according to Sport1's press release.
The Starzz platform will focus on enhancing interactions between clubs, athletes, celebrities, content creators, and their respective communities.
Expressing his satisfaction with the partnership, Marco Kowalewski, Founder of Starzz LLC, stated, "We are very happy to have SPORT1 as a renowned and well-known partner by our side, who recognizes the opportunities in the sports and entertainment market presented by digital transformation. Through this collaboration, we aim to increase awareness of the Starzz brand in the German-speaking region and introduce joint products with high user acceptance."
Kowalewski believes that this collaboration will enhance Sport1's global brand visibility while showcasing its unique product portfolio.
Meanwhile, Matthias Reichert, Chief Commercial Officer and Member of the Management of Sport1 GmbH, emphasized, "With Starzz, we have found the perfect partner to continue the journey we have embarked upon in the Web3 sector. We firmly believe that collaboration and the combination of different competencies can achieve more together. We consider sports as the ideal medium to translate technical possibilities into practical and effective use cases."
